Mainstream Development LLC dba Mainstream IT was founded in June of 2002 by Paul Maine. Mr. Maine’s professional career spans more than 20 years and includes various engineering and software development roles with Science Applications International Corporation ( SAIC ), General Electric, EG&G Special Projects, Motorola, Pharmacuetical Product Development ( PPD ) and several startup companies.

With more than 25 years’ experience in direct marketing management and copywriting, Lori Witzel has helped organizations as diverse as technology firms, educational publishers, advertising agencies, and online learning providers succeed and grow. A hands-on manager who’s created winning outcomes through a variety of direct marketing methods—from traditional ink-on-paper catalogs and direct mailers to behavior-based email campaigns and outbound calling—Lori helps her clients contain costs while improving response rates and business outcomes.

The core of any good direct marketing efforts rests on the right mix of three elements—the list, the message, and the offer. As a direct marketer, Lori has the experience you need to ensure all elements are aligned for success. As a copywriter, Lori provides the audience-centric focus you need to make your messages resonate and trigger positive response. Concurrent with her Mainstream IT engagement, Lori is the Senior Manager of Integrated Marketing Programs at a well-known Austin area business. Prior experience includes Senior Manager, Creative Services at Harcourt; Director of Creative Services and Director of Direct Response for an Austin software company; Director of Direct Marketing for Sheshunoff; and Catalog Manager for PRO-ED.

Barton Layne – Senior Test Engineer

Barton Layne has provided quality assurance and testing services for more than 18 years. Barton has served international clients as a senior test engineer, test manager, test automation specialist, performance tester, and business analyst. He has consulted with a variety of market segments including: government agencies, insurance companies, pharmaceutical, insurance, computer manufacturing and assembly, customer service, software startup companies implementing testing processes and procedures.

As a senior test engineer, Barton is committed to helping organizations define quality, provide clear and pragmatic processes for measuring where they are in relation to their definition. Barton is dedicated to improving software testing practices and continues to collaborate with other testing experts in this endeavor. He tests your hardware and software through the eyes of your customers and seeks to find problems before they find them.

Barton holds two international testing certifications, and has served on technical advisory committees of international organizations. He has written and contributed to articles and papers on testing and has reviewed multiple books on testing for colleagues prior to publication.

Daniel Sydnes – Senior IT Consultant

Daniel launched his career as an engineer at the tender age of five by tearing apart his mother’s faviorite Princess phone to discover how it worked. He got it working again two years later–much to the relief of both parents. Daniel started his own electronics repair business while still in junior high, then used the profits to finance his college education at the University of Iowa. He graduated with dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.

With over 15 years of experience, Daniel has served as a software developer, systems architect, security auditor, and IT director for several rapid-growth technology companies. He continues his work by providing MainstreamIT clients with integrated solutions that interweave business and technology to create bottom line value.
